Description

12 Jordan Lane is a house built around 1860, featuring two storeys and three bays, with a half-basement at the rear. The exterior is made of cream sandstone, with squared and snecked stugged rubble and droved ashlar dressings on the front. It has a cill band course at the first floor, bracketted cills, and a cavetto eaves cornice.

On the north (front) elevation, there is a central doorway with chamfered reveals, a consoled cornice, and a panelled door topped with a rectangular plate glass fanlight. To the right of the door is a small oval window, and above it is a single window at the first floor. The outer bays each have single windows on both the ground and first floors.

The south (rear) elevation features a central bay with a single window at the ground floor and a round-headed stair window with a coloured border of etched grapes above it at the first floor. The left bay has single windows on each floor, while the right bay has a full-height canted window with a half-piend roof.

The west elevation includes a corbelled corner over the basement at the rear, a secondary door at both the basement and ground floor, and a brick wallhead stack. The house has 4-pane timber sash and case windows and a slate roof with lead flashings, along with two apex stacks.

Inside, there is a tiled vestibule and decorative features such as an egg and dart cornice and a plasterwork rose in the hall. The property is enclosed by a tall rubble wall at the rear and side with flat coping, and a low rubble wall with flat coping at the front, along with later gates and railings.
