24 Canaan Lane, Edinburgh

24 Canaan Lane is an early 19th-century, two-storey, three-bay house featuring a semi-circular rear stairwell. The front is constructed of variegated sandstone with coursed and squared rubble, showcasing droved dressings and a stugged finish at the first floor, while the rear and sides are made of coursed rubble.

On the south (front) elevation, there is a small modern timber porch at the center leading to the doorway, which has a rectangular plate glass fanlight obscured behind it. Above the door, there is a single window at the first floor, and the outer bays each have a single window on both the ground and first floors. The north (rear) elevation has a semi-circular stairwell in the center with single windows, and the outer bays also feature single windows. Both the east and west elevations are gabled with apex stacks.

The house has timber sash and case windows with plate glass glazing. The roof is made of slate with a stone ridge, coped apex stacks, and ashlar skews. Inside, there is a stone stair with cast-iron balusters.
