Description
Muirland Cottage is a mid-19th century single-storey cottage with a T-plan layout. It features white-painted rubble with ashlar margins, round-arched windows, projecting eaves, and decorative bargeboards.
On the main elevation, a gabled bay is advanced at the center with a bipartite window at the front. There is a boarded door on the right return and a window on the left return, with flanking windows that have gables breaking the eaves above.
The side elevation includes a gable with a canted window and a slate roof. The opposite side elevation has a gable with a bipartite window at the center.
At the rear, there is a modern flat roof extension. The cottage has timber lying-pane glazing in sash and case windows, a graded grey slate roof with lead flashings, and a central stack with octagonal cans.
