57 High Street, Ardersier

This building, located at 57 High Street in Ardersier, dates from the late 18th century and is a two-storey house with an attic. It features a symmetrical five-bay design and has a single-storey gabled wing at the rear. The exterior is made of painted ashlar sandstone, accented by contrasting painted ashlar margins and dressings, stone cills, and squared tooled rubble flanks.

The central entrance consists of a double leaf timber door with a moulded architrave, flanked by two window openings; the left side has been altered to replace a former door and window from a shop around 1986. There is a banded cill course at the first floor level, and above, in the outer bays, are a pair of small square piended attic dormers.

The windows are timber sash and case with a 12-pane glazing pattern. Additional architectural details include scrolled skewputts with cable moulding, flat stone skews, and panelled end stacks. The roof is covered with slate and features a zinc ridge. The interior was not seen in 2014.
