South View, Back Street, Fordyce Village

South View is a cottage located on Back Street in Fordyce Village, built around 1890. It is a single storey and attic structure with three bays, featuring a later single storey and loft addition that projects at the southwest. The cottage is constructed of rubble with harled gables, and it has contrasting painted margins and dressings. The central entrance is located under a shallow pedimented lintel, and the flanking windows have similar lintel detailing. At the rear elevation, there are two later canted dormers with 12-pane glazing. The cottage has end stacks and a slate roof.

Additionally, there is a brick and harled rubble addition that was formerly a tailor's shop. This addition has a doorway on the right and a pend arch on the left, with a central window and a small round-headed loft window above. It also features a slate roof.
