Description
The Smithy on Church Street in Fordyce is an early to mid-19th century building that was originally a cottage before being converted into a smithy. It is a single-storey structure with three bays and features a small single-storey, single-bay extension at the west gable. The exterior is roughly harled over random rubble, with tooled rubble dressings. There is a side entrance that includes a double-leaf plank door, along with two large windows that have vertical glazing. The rear of the building has three similar windows and a small gable loft window. The building has coped end stacks and pantiled roofs, with a slate easing course on the main structure.
