Description
Finderlie is a cottage built around 1860, featuring a single storey and three bays, with a lower addition on the west side. The exterior is made of coursed rubble sandstone, accented with contrasting stugged and droved dressings.
On the north elevation, which serves as the entrance, there is an advanced gabled bay at the center with a boarded door, stone consoles, and a pentice canopy above. A round-headed blind opening is set in the steeply-pitched gablehead, with single windows located in the flanking bays. The lower single storey wing is recessed to the outer right.
The east elevation has a doorway with a boarded door leading to the lower wing. The west elevation is blank, while the south elevation was not visible during the last inspection in 1993.
The windows have been boarded over, and the roof is covered with grey slate, featuring stone coping on the gables and octagonal gablehead stacks on both the east and west sides, along with block skewputts. The interior was also not seen during the last inspection in 1993.
