Description

Messers. J&D Murray, 1861-62 for James Roy, merchant; with alterations dated 1883. 2-storey 3-bay former lodge and coach house. Whinstone with sandstone dressings; stugged quoins. 1st floor windows breaking eaves with gabled dormerheads; crowstepped gables.

S elevation: door displaced to right at centre with drinking fountain to left; segmental carriage arch to left, flat carriage arch to right (both blocked and glazed). At 1st floor, small central window hard up against eaves; windows to flanking bays.

Gable ends with window at 1st floor to W, lean-to greenhouse to E. Irregular rear elevation with box dormerheaded bipartite window at 1st floor.

uPVC glazing. Purple-grey slates; corbel skewputts; sandstone stacks.

Interior: not seen 1994.

Boundary walls: rubble walls; stepping down with with saddleback ashlar coping and ball finials to S.
