13 Priestfield Road, Edinburgh

This building is a gate lodge located at 13 Priestfield Road in Edinburgh, dated 1876. It is a single-storey, three-bay structure designed in an L-shape with Jacobean architectural details. The exterior is constructed from stugged squared and snecked cream sandstone with polished margins. Notable features include an eaves course, raised long and short quoins, block skewputts, and kneelers at the skews.

On the south elevation, there is a glazed timber porch situated in the re-entrant angle at the center. To the outer right, an advanced gabled bay features a hoodmoulded single window and a panelled datestone set in the gablehead. The outer left bay contains a single window.

The west elevation showcases a carved panel set in the gablehead. The building has four-pane timber sash and case windows, a purple-grey slate roof, coped gablehead stacks, and moulded octagonal cans. It retains original cast-iron rainwater goods, including a hopper and decorative brackets for the rhones.

The interior was not seen in 1995. There is a low boundary wall along the street.
