Castleroy Lodge, Hill Street, Broughty Ferry, Dundee

Castleroy Lodge, located on Hill Street in Broughty Ferry, Dundee, was designed by John Murray Robertson in 1887. This two-storey lodge has a rectangular plan and features three symmetrical bays, serving as a bridge to the drive. The exterior is constructed from tooled and coursed sandstone, with snecked rubble on the sides and polished dressings. It includes a base course, a string course at the first floor, transomed windows, a crenellated parapet, and coped stacks topped with decorative cans. The north elevation showcases cast-iron rainwater goods with decorative fixtures.

On the west elevation, the central bay is slightly advanced and features a Tudor arch pend, although the gates are missing. Above the pend, there is a four-light transomed and mullioned window, along with a Gilroy armorial panel in the parapet. The left bay has a gun-loop window at the ground floor and a window at the first floor. The right bay mirrors the left, including a pedestrian pend and the remains of a bell-pull.

The east elevation is similar to the west, featuring a Gilroy cipher in the parapet. The north elevation includes a cross window at the ground floor on the right side.
