Tantah Lodge, Edderston Road, Peebles

Tantah Lodge, located on Edderston Road in Peebles, was built in 1884, with a rear addition completed by Robert Murray in 1898. This single-storey lodge is designed in an L-shape and features a combination of whinstone with cream sandstone dressings and stugged quoins. The building has overhanging eaves and exposed rafters, with smooth chamfered arrises.

The front gable projects and includes a datestone positioned above a window. There is a timber porch, which has been glazed, located in the re-entrant angle of the building, featuring a panelled and glazed door with a window to the left.

At the rear, there is a flat-roofed extension that is dry-dashed. The lodge is fitted with timber sash and case windows, which have an 8-pane upper sash and a 2-pane lower sash. The roof is covered with grey slates, and there are rendered stacks.

The property is enclosed by a rubble boundary wall topped with boulder coping, with a break in the wall providing access to a garage.
