Peebles, Edderston Road, Craigerne Lodge

Craigerne House is a large villa located on Edderston Road, designed by Peddie and Kinnear and completed in 1870. The building is two stories high with three bays, featuring a harled exterior, projecting gables, and both long and short sandstone dressings. It has overhanging eaves and includes some round-headed windows on the first floor. The west elevation showcases an architraved doorpiece with a bracketed cornice. To the left, there is a stair tower situated in the re-entrant angle, which has a corbel course and a pepperpot roof. A date stone inscribed 'PK 1870' is also present. The villa underwent alterations by James Davidson Cairns in 1908, with additional changes made around 2005.

The windows are made of timber sash and case, featuring plate glass and 4-pane glazing. The roof is covered with grey slates, and there are corniced ashlar stacks.

Additionally, there is a single-storey, L-plan lodge with gabled features and overhanging eaves, located at NT24615, 39575. This lodge is also harled with painted ashlar dressings and includes a porch with a round-headed door, along with timber sash and case windows, and a grey slate roof.
