2, 3 The Square, East Linton

This is a mid to late 18th century, two-storey house located at 2 and 3 The Square in East Linton. The building features three irregular bays and was previously divided into two separate dwellings. There is a doorway and shopfront on the right side. The exterior is finished with painted harl and has margins that connect it to the adjacent buildings at 1 and 4 The Square.

The door, which has a simple doorpiece, is situated to the right of the center in the second bay, with windows flanking it. To the right, there is a bipartite window with a stone mullion. The first floor has three windows positioned close under the eaves, all of which are fitted with plate glass in sash and case style.

The roof is covered with grey slates and features a straight mutual skew, along with a renewed brick stack on the east side. Additionally, there is a low rubble ashlar coped retaining wall.
