Description
4 The Square in East Linton is a late 18th century, two-storey, three-bay house featuring a pend. The building is constructed from random whinstone rubble with sandstone dressings. It has a central door flanked by windows, with an additional door to the pend on the outer left, which has wooden jambs. There are three windows on the first floor. The sides and rear of the house are also made of rubble, and it adjoins 3 The Square to the west, while the east side has a blank gable wall. The windows are plate glass sash and case. The roof is covered with grey slates and has straight skews, along with an ashlar coped stack, although the mutual stack has been renewed in brick. There is a low rubble ashlar coped retaining wall, but the iron railings have been lost.
