1 High Street, East Linton

This is a later 18th century house at 1 High Street, East Linton, which has undergone alterations, possibly raised in the 19th century. The building is two storeys high with three bays, and the openings are grouped towards the centre, featuring an attic. It has a white painted render with painted ashlar margins, and the gable end is harled with a rendered base course, while there is a rubble projection at the rear.

The front faces High Street, with a central door that has a strip fanlight above it, and windows on either side. On the first floor, there are three narrower windows. The attic features pedimented dormers in the outer bays. There is also a window on the first floor of the gable end wall, with a small window above it in the attic.

The windows are sash and case style with a 4-pane glazing pattern, while the attic dormers have 8 panes. The roof is covered with grey slates and includes a small skylight. The building has straight skews and brick stacks with a cornice and decorative cans.
