Description
This building at 3 Church Street in Portsoy dates from around 1800 and is a single storey and attic house with three bays. The front is made of squared rubble with large blocks and features an east gable facing Church Street, accented by contrasting painted courses. The rear is rendered rubble, and there are contrasting painted ashlar margins. The central entrance has a panelled front door topped with a letterbox fanlight and painted jambs. The windows are timber sash and case with 12-pane glazing, and there are later 19th century canted wallhead dormers in the outer bays featuring 2-and 6-pane glazing.
The house has coped end stacks, flat skews, and a slate roof, along with a cast-iron rooflight. There is a small single storey, 2-bay rubble wing at the west gable, which includes a door and window, also with a slate roof.
