Description
1 Aird Street in Portsoy is an early 19th century pair of single storey and attic cottages. The front is made of coursed pinned rubble with tooled rubble dressings, while the return gables and rear are constructed from random rubble.
Cottage No. 1 features three bays with a central door and has a gabled dormer added in the outer bay around 1992. Cottage No. 3 has two bays, a window, and a small attic light in the return south gable, along with a gabled dormer in the outer bay similar to that of No. 1. There is a single storey rear wing. The cottages have modern timber casements with 9- and 12-pane glazing, end masonry stacks, a slate roof, and a pottery ridge.
