140 Perth Road, Dundee

Circa 1830. 2-storey and basement 3-bay villa, coursed

rubble with ashlar dressings.

N elevation: shallow advanced centre bay. Mid-19th century

porch, round-headed windows and doors in architrave door

possibly moved from front to side; angle pilasters,

cornice and parapet. Basement to left obscured by widening

of pavement. 2 ground floor windows with architrave and

cornice, 1st floor windows in margins. Main cornice,

blocking course and stepped centre panel.

S elevation: 3-storey, due to slope of land, advanced

centre bay with ground floor door altered to window;

centre pediment right bay altered later 19th century to

canted window rising through 3 storeys. Cornice.

Plain E gable with wallhead stack. W gable adjoins later

tenement. Piended slate roof.

Sash and case windows, later 2-pane to N and to canted

bay, 12-pane to other S elevation windows.
