Description
The Department of Mathematics, located at 21 Perth Road in Dundee, is a villa built around 1820. It is two stories high and has four bays, featuring an ashlar front with rubble-built sides and rear.
The side porch is set back and is adjacent to the eastern gable, supported by engaged Roman Doric columns. It includes an entablature and a tall parapet above the doorpiece, which features a round-arched doorway and a fanlight. The front of the building is framed by angle pilasters and has linking cill courses. There is a main cornice blocking course, a slate roof, and a tall stack at the eastern gable.
At the back of the porch, there is a one-storey wing with a lean-to at the rear. The windows are sash and case, featuring a later four-pane glazing pattern, except for a stained glass window on the staircase.
