Description
1 Drummond Street in Dundee is a villa built around 1831-1835. It is a two-storey building with three bays across the front and two bays on the sides, featuring an ashlar front and coursed rubble on the sides. The windows are unmargined, and the front has a central doorpiece with a canted bay window extending through both floors to the left. There is a French window on the first floor that leads to an ornate cast-iron balcony, which was removed around 1980. The villa has a cornice and a blocking course, and there is a lean-to addition on the west side that adjoins the boundary wall.
The roof is gabled and covered with slate, featuring corniced gable-end stacks, one gabled dormer, and two canted dormers. The windows are 12-pane sash and case. The property is enclosed by a tall rubble-built boundary wall with square gatepiers.
