Description
2 Dudhope Terrace in Dundee is a two-storey, three-bay neo-classical villa designed by George Angus in 1840. The villa features an ashlar front with random rubble on the sides and rear.
On the southeast elevation, the central bay is set forward and includes a doorpiece with engaged Greek Doric columns and a block pediment. The ground floor has bipartite windows with recessed margins, and there is a sill course at the first floor. The elevation is further enhanced by angle piers, a main cornice, a blocking course, and a block pediment.
The side elevations are constructed of random rubble and each face has two ashlar wallhead stacks. The villa is topped with piended slate roofs and has sash and case windows, which now feature a two-pane glazing pattern.
The front boundary walls are made of ashlar, while the rear has high walls built from rubble.
