Description
4 Dudhope Terrace in Dundee is a neo-classical villa built by George Angus around 1840-1845. This two-storey, three-bay building features an ashlar front with random rubble on the sides and rear.
The south elevation has a central bay that is advanced and includes an engaged Greek Doric columned and corniced doorpiece. To the left, there is a canted bay that extends through both floors. The ground floor on the right has a bipartite window that is architraved and corniced, with an architraved and aproned window above it. The main cornice and blocking course complete the design.
The side elevations are constructed from rubble and each has two ashlar corniced wallhead stacks. The roofs are piended and covered with slate. The windows are sash and case, currently featuring a two-pane glazing pattern.
The front of the property is bordered by low ashlar boundary walls, while the rear has higher rubble-built walls.
