Description
The gate piers at Kinmount House, possibly designed by Sir Robert Smirke around 1815, were relocated to their current position in the early 20th century. There are seven piers set back from the main road, with curved long quadrants and two additional piers at the ends. All the piers are constructed of pink ashlar. The square piers include two massive inner piers, each topped with flat pyramidal caps. The quadrants are made of stugged ashlar and feature a moulded coping. The wooden gates are not original to the structure.
