Description
The gate piers at South Lodge, Arden House, date from the early 19th century and are constructed from ashlar stone. They are octagonal in shape and feature slender moulded panels with cusped gabletted heads, topped with moulded depressed pyramidal caps. The main gate piers are accompanied by flanking pedestrian gates, and there are plain terminal octagonal ashlar piers. A low plinth wall supports the structure, which is complemented by the original decorative wrought-iron railings and gates.
