Description
Burnfoot Farm is a 2-storey, 3-bay farmhouse built in 1863, featuring a rectangular plan and a gabled steading that forms a U-shaped courtyard. The building is constructed from rubble and has harl with cement pointing. It originally had Tudor hoodmoulds and is topped with gabled ends that include trefoil-headed bargeboards.
On the west (main) elevation, there is a low, broad gabled porch that projects at the center, with a plaque above the gable inscribed "Built by Sir James Colquhoun Bart Lord Lieutenant of Dumbartonshire AD 1860." This porch has been altered to include a modern rustic lean-to. The symmetrical bays on either side feature bipartite windows at the ground level, with a window located in the gablehead.
At the rear, there are U-plan steadings that serve as outbuildings, which include various openings. The windows in these structures are uPVC sash and case look-alike, and the roof is covered with grey slate.
