99A South Drumlanrig Street in Thornhill is a two-storey building dating from 1714, as indicated by a datestone above one window that was formerly a door. The structure features an asymmetrical five-bay range with a steeply pitched roof and includes a two-bay addition from the early 19th century to the south, which is known as number 99. The building is constructed from red sandstone rubble with ashlar dressings.

The openings have been altered, with a shop inserted at the north end, while the remainder of the row is set behind an iron-railed garden. There is a canted window at the south side and three bipartite windows on the first floor. The building has late 19th-century rear wings that include forestairs. The sash windows are mostly four or twelve-pane. The eaves feature a moulded cornice. The two-bay addition is taller at the wallhead but has a shallow-pitched roof. The building has end and axial stacks, and the roof is covered with graded slates. The garden is enclosed by railings set on low coping, with square gatepiers leading to the main door, and there is a cobbled pavement.
