Description
57 and 58 South Drumlanrig Street in Thornhill is a two-storey, three-bay house built in 1805, with alterations made to the ground floor, including a shop front, around 1850 to 1860. The building is constructed of painted ashlar stone, featuring contrasting dressings, architraved openings, and rusticated quoins. The central entrance has a panelled door topped with a fanlight and a consoled cornice. The ground floor includes round-headed openings, which consist of a shop door and flanking windows. The house has plate glass sash windows, an eaves course, a mutule cornice, straight skews, and an end stack over the harled south gable.
