Description

The Joseph Thomson Monument, located on East Morton Street in Thornhill, was created by the sculptor Charles MacBride of Edinburgh in 1897, as indicated by his signature and date. The monument features a bronze bust of Joseph Thomson, which is set on a battered square pedestal made of red ashlar. This pedestal includes a bronze plaque and an inscription panel, along with lion masks. The entire structure is raised on a stepped plinth.
