Description
1 West Morton Street in Thornhill is a two-storey, three-bay corner house built in the earlier to mid-19th century. The building features painted ashlar on its principal elevation facing West Morton Street. This elevation includes a central doorcase with pilasters, a deeply recessed door, and a fanlight above. The first floor has 12-pane sash windows, although the glazing has been altered at ground level. The window to the right has a raised cill, and the ground floor gable windows facing Drumlanrig Street have been treated in a similar manner. The house has straight skews, coped end stacks, and a slate roof, along with a two-bay gable elevation.
