Description
The building is an early 19th century single-storey smithy located in Newbridge, Dumfries. It has a gable facing the road and features a wide round-arched doorway, which is dated 1861 on a label stop. The exterior is made of painted rubble with ashlar margins. The west elevation has three bays, with a central door flanked by small-paned iron-framed windows. The roof is covered with corrugated asbestos. There are modern, lightly constructed extensions that adjoin the north and east walls.
