Description
This building is a smithy and outbuildings dating from the late 18th century to early 19th century. It is constructed from coursed sandstone rubble with ashlar dressings and irregular quoins, featuring roofs made of pantiles and stone flags, along with rendered chimneys. The structure is single-storey and consists of three bays in each of three sections, totaling nine bays.
The central entrance is a boarded Dutch door set in irregular stone jambs beneath a flat stone lintel. To the left, there is a small four-pane window with a similar lintel and a projecting stone sill, while a larger window to the right is blocked. The forge, located to the right of this section, has central boarded vehicle doors and an iron tethering ring on the left. An outbuilding at the left end also features vehicle doors and a small square window. The roofs have varying pitches, with the central section being steeper, and there is a square chimney stack located mid-slope on the forge at the right, along with a banded chimney on the right end. The left return gable includes a passage between the front and rear parts of the building.
