Description
Milestone, probably from 1793, located opposite the south end of Hollinside Terrace on the west side of the B6296 in Lanchester. It was created for the Wolsingham-Gateshead turnpike and is made of sandstone. The milestone is a roughly-dressed block, approximately ½ metre high, featuring the figures '15' above '8' incised on the side facing the road.
