Description
Prospect House is an early 19th-century house located on Lanchester Ford Road. It is constructed from coursed squared sandstone rubble, featuring quoins and painted tooled ashlar dressings. The roof is stone-flagged, with stone gable copings and an ashlar chimney.
The house is two storeys high and has three bays, with a right extension that has two lower storeys and two bays. The central entrance consists of a partly-glazed door with an overlight that has geometric glazing bars, set within a plain surround with corner blocks and a bracketed pediment-shaped hood. The windows are 12-pane sashes in plain surrounds, each with projecting stone sills. The right extension includes a 20th-century door and various window styles. The main block's roof features gable copings and corniced end chimneys on plinths, while the right extension has a chimney at its right end.
On the rear elevation facing the B6296, the main block has plain stone surrounds for a door with four beaded panels and for the sashes, which also have glazing bars.
