Description
The Lodge is an early 19th-century house located on the east side of Durham Road in Lanchester. It features pebble-dash render with a plinth and tooled ashlar dressings, topped by a Welsh slate roof with yellow brick chimneys. The building is two storeys high and has four windows. There are renewed steps leading up to a partly-glazed six-panel door, which is accompanied by a fanlight that has delicate patterned glazing bars. This door is set within a round-headed panelled reveal and an open-pedimented Tuscan doorcase. The windows are 12-pane sashes with plain stone surrounds and projecting stone sills. The hipped roof includes two wide ridge chimneys with square yellow pots, with one chimney located at the left end. The rear elevation features a projecting central bay with an altered door in a plain stone surround, as well as a large round-headed stair window with intersecting glazing bars.
