Description
This is a late 18th-century house located on the north side of Front Street in Staindrop. The exterior is painted render with tooled ashlar dressings. It has a Welsh slate roof with stone gable copings and brick chimneys, one of which has been replaced. The house is two storeys high with a symmetrical three-bay arrangement. The central doorway has a partly-glazed door within a plain stone surround. The outer bays feature sash windows; the ground floor windows are tripartite (three-part) with glazing bars and projecting stone sills. The roof has gable copings, the left-hand one resting on kneeler stones, and end chimneys. Wedge stone lintels and projecting stone sills are also present on the left return of the building, corresponding to the sash windows on each floor.
