Description

Sherwood House is a pair of houses dating to around 1725. The exterior is painted rough render with chamfered quoins and ashlar stone dressings, topped with a Welsh slate roof and rendered chimneys. The building is three storeys high with a symmetrical facade of five windows, arranged in a 2:3 grouping. A partly-glazed door is set in a plain stone surround in the second bay, and another is located under a flat stone lintel between the third and fourth bays. The ground floor features three flat-topped, corniced bay windows with sashes dating to the late 19th century. The first floor has two similar sashes and three plain sashes, all set within architraves. Small, square fixed lights are found within the second-floor architraves. The roof has tall rendered chimneys, one of which sits on a plinth. There are also two small, inserted roof lights.
