Description
The Queen's Head Public House is a late 18th-century building located on Front Street in Lanchester. It is constructed from coursed sandstone rubble with quoins and features painted ashlar dressings. The roof is made of Welsh slate and has grey brick chimneys. The building stands two storeys high and has four bays, with the fourth bay set back slightly. The three-bay section has tooled stone surrounds for a 20th-century door and overlight on the right, as well as late 19th-century sash windows in the first two bays. The fourth bay includes flat stone lintels and projecting stone sills for a plain sash window on the ground floor and a late 19th-century sash window above. Corniced chimneys are located at both ends of the main block and at the right end of the set-back bay. There is a one-storey, three-bay extension on the left that is not of particular interest.
