Description
This is a house located at 37 South Street, built in the early 19th century. It is constructed from English bond brick with ashlar dressings and features a painted plinth. The roof is made of Welsh slate and has stone gable copings, along with ashlar banded and corniced brick chimneys. The building has two storeys and attics, with two bays.
There are three internal steps leading up to a six-panelled door, which has a patterned overlight above it, all set within a doorcase that features a prominent cornice. To the right of the door, there is a narrow sash window. The first bay contains 20-pane sash windows, with the first-floor window being a bowed oriel supported by an ashlar bracket, and it has an ashlar cornice and blocking course above it. There is also a sash window with glazing bars located above the door. All the windows are topped with flat stone lintels and have projecting stone sills. The roof includes two dormers that are bargeboarded.
