Description

This is a probably 18th-century house located on the west side of South Street, Durham. It is built of painted render with painted ashlar dressings, and has a Welsh slate roof with brick chimneys. The house is three stories high and has two windows. A central ledged boarded door is set within an open-pedimented doorcase, with pilasters that have three beads resembling fluting. Above the door is a radial fanlight. The windows are 16-pane sashes with projecting stone sills. Brick chimneys are located at each end of the building. A boot-scraper is recessed into the wall beside the door.
