Description

Earlier 19th century, remodelled 1884 (? dated). 2-storey and attic, 3-bay hotel, in terrace. Painted render. Painted base course. Painted architraved margins; bracketted cills to windows.

W (MAIN STREET) ELEVATION: pilastered doorpiece at centre, with dentilled cornice, and angled tablet above bearing ciphered date "1884"; panelled door and deep plate fanlight. Door in bay to left, enlarged from window; 2-leaf and deep fanlight. Window in bay to right at ground floor, and to each bay at 1st floor. Two canted and piended dormer windows above outer bays, with wrought-iron finials.

S ELEVATION: blank above adjoining lower building, No 21 Main Street (see separate listing).

N ELEVATION: blank above adjoining lower building, No 25 Main Street (see separate listing).

4-pane glazing in sash and case windows. Red sandstone coped skews. Painted brick gablehead stacks to N and S. Small purple slates. Octagonal cans.
