Description
50 Main Street in Kirkcolm is a mid to late 19th century, two-storey, three-bay house that is part of a terrace. The first floor slightly breaks the eaves and the exterior is rendered with painted margins and a base course.
On the east elevation facing Main Street, there is a corniced and pilastered doorpiece with an angled tablet at the center, featuring a modern door. Above this, there is a small window on the first floor. The outer bays have windows on both floors, with finialled gabled dormerheads above the first-floor windows.
The south elevation is attached to the lower building at 46/48 Main Street, while the north elevation is adjoined to the lower building at 52 Main Street.
The house features 4-pane glazing in sash and case windows, coped skews, harled gablehead stacks, and is covered with small grey slates.
