Description
44 Main Street in Kirkcolm is a single-storey and attic cottage dating from the earlier to mid-19th century. It is part of a terrace and features a harled exterior with painted margins, quoin strips, and a base course.
The east elevation, facing Main Street, has a door at the center and enlarged windows in the outer bays. Above these outer bays are modern flat-roofed dormer windows.
The south elevation is attached to No 42 Main Street, while the north elevation is adjoined to No 46/48 Main Street. The cottage has modern glazing and shares gablehead stacks with the neighboring properties to the north and south. The roof is covered with small purple slates.
