Description
42 Main Street in Kirkcolm is a single-storey, three-bay cottage dating from the earlier to mid 19th century. It is part of a terrace and features harled walls with painted margins.
On the east elevation facing Main Street, there is a modern door located at the centre, with a window in each of the outer bays. The south elevation is attached to a taller building, No 40 Main Street, while the north elevation is adjoined to No 44 Main Street.
The cottage has modern glazing and a steeply pitched roof covered with small grey slates, which includes two modern rooflights.
