Oliver's Shop, 9 Bruce Street, Lochmaben

Oliver's Shop is an earlier 19th-century two-storey corner building located at 9 Bruce Street in Lochmaben. The main elevation facing Bruce Street features three bays, with an additional bay at the curved corner that includes a pilastered shop front at ground level. There is a single bay on Princes Street. The building is constructed of whitewashed rubble, accented by contrasting painted ashlar margins. The shop front has a two-leaf boarded door with a fanlight at the angled corner, and there is a single window on each side of the elevations, all connected under a fascia with modern canopies. A central house door is located on Bruce Street, while a former pend has been replaced by a bipartite window. The building primarily features sash windows, with a 12-pane glazing pattern on the first floor, although the corner window has modern glazing. The roof has straight skews and corniced end stacks, finished with slate.
