Crown Hotel, 8 Bruce Street, Lochmaben

The Crown Hotel, located at 8 Bruce Street in Lochmaben, is an early 19th-century hotel. The front block is two storeys high and consists of three bays, with long ranges at the rear that step in height and face Castlehill Gate.

The front block is finished in white harling with black-painted margins. It features a prominent plastered central doorcase and single windows, which are sashes with a four-pane glazing pattern. There is a doorway, one of which is blocked, near each outer angle of the building. A single end stack remains, and the roofs are covered with slate.

The rear ranges include a single storey and loft inner range, which has a pair of loft doorways that rise above the eaves and are topped with gabled heads. There are also low single storey ranges extending beyond this inner range.
