Description
Kismet is a pair of two-storey houses built in the mid-19th century, located at 12 Bruce Street in Lochmaben. Each house features three and two bays, respectively, with prominent pilastered doorcases that include recessed panelled doors topped with fanlights. The buildings are constructed from coursed bull-faced red ashlar, accented by contrasting painted dressings and stop-chamfered margins. The sash windows, which have small-paned glazing, are preserved in the two-bay house (No. 14). Additional architectural details include corniced end stacks, skews with moulded skewputts, and a continuous slate roof.
