Description

147, 149, and 151 Warrender Park Road is a four-storey, six-bay tenement building designed by Robert Paterson & Son in 1881, featuring Baronial details as part of a terrace. The structure is made of coursed orange sandstone with polished ashlar dressings. It has a base course, cornices above the ground floor openings except for the central doorway, a string course at the third-floor cill level, an eaves cornice, and chamfered reveals at the ground and first floors, with stop-chamfered reveals above.

The entrance elevation includes round-arched canopied doorways in the second and fifth bays, along with a square lintelled doorway between the third and fourth bays. The deep-set tripartite panelled doors have plate glass fanlights above them. The first-floor single windows in the second and fifth bays are blinded with balustraded aprons. There are single windows on the second and third floors, and pedimented dormerheads linked to wallhead stacks. The doorway in the fourth bay features a deep-set panelled door and a plate glass fanlight, with a hoodmoulded square blank panel positioned between the first and second floors. Full-height canted windows are present in the third and seventh bays, topped with swept pyramidal roofs and decorative iron finials. The first and fifth bays have bipartite windows in advanced gabled panels, with blank heraldic shields set in the gableheads. The building features plate glass sash and case windows, a grey slate roof, a corniced wallhead, mutual stacks, and gabletted skewputts. The interiors were not seen in 1991. There is a low boundary wall to the street.
