Description

141, 143, and 145 Warrender Park Road is a four-storey, six-bay tenement building, possibly designed by Thomas Gibson around 1880. It features Baronial details and is part of a terrace. The building is constructed from coursed yellow sandstone with polished ashlar dressings. Notable architectural elements include a base course, cornices above ground floor openings (except for the central doorway), a string course at the third floor, an eaves cornice, chamfered reveals at the ground and first floors, and stop-chamfered reveals above. The entrances have deep-set panelled doors and plate glass fanlights.

On the south entrance elevation, there are doorways in the second and sixth bays, as well as between the third and fourth bays. The first floor has blinded balustraded aprons for single windows, while the second and third floors feature single windows. The pedimented dormerheads are linked to wallhead stacks. A hoodmoulded square blank recessed panel is set between the first and second floors between the central bays. Full-height canted windows are located in the third and seventh bays, topped with swept pyramidal roofs and decorative iron finials. The first and fifth bays have bipartite windows in advanced gabled panels, with blank heraldic shields set in the gableheads and stone finials. The building has plate glass sash and case windows and a grey slate roof, with a corniced wallhead and mutual stacks, as well as gabletted skewputts. The interiors were not seen in 1991. A low saddleback wall borders the street.
