Links Hotel, 3 Alvanley Terrace, Edinburgh

The Park Hotel, located at 4 Alvanley Terrace in Edinburgh, is a pair of three-storey terraced villas designed by David Bryce between 1869 and 1870. Each villa has two bays and is now used as hotels. The buildings are constructed of coursed grey ashlar stone with polished dressings. Notable architectural features include a base course, a dividing cornice above the ground floor, an eaves cornice, and raised and lugged window surrounds. The second-floor windows break the eaves and are set within steeply pedimented dormer heads topped with stone finials.

On the west entrance elevation, there are architraved doorways located in the second and fourth bays. Consoles to the cornices create balconies for the first-floor windows, and there is incomplete iron brattishing. The doors are panelled, with the door at No. 4 being two-leaf, and they feature plate glass fanlights above. The first and third bays have two-storey canted windows, which include hoodmouldings over the first-floor windows and crenellated parapets. Above these, there are two single windows on the second floor. The buildings have plate glass sash and case windows, a grey slate roof, and corniced mutual stacks. Some original rainwater goods remain, including decorative iron brackets for the downpipes.
