Wall And Railings, Garden, Drinking Fountain, West Terrace, High Street, South Queensferry

The drinking fountain, located in the gardens at West Terrace on High Street in South Queensferry, dates from the earlier 20th century. It is made of grey granite and features cast-iron dressings. The fountain has two foresteps that form a plinth, with a central oval niche that holds a basin. The upper part of the niche is adorned with shell moulding, and there is a dedication stone at the top with Art Nouveau decorations.

The gardens are designed in a horseshoe shape and include stepped areas with rubble steps, as well as granite steps at each end.

The walls and railings consist of a coped, square and snecked rubble wall that has an inverted bow shape, topped with half-ball finials. There are stairs at each end of the wall, with half lamp standards positioned at the heads of the stairs.
